Senior Contracts Manager Duties: Overseeing response to complex contract negotiation and execution. Provides legal advice and services on issues concerning the rights, obligations and privileges of the organization. Represents the organization to customers, suppliers, competitors and government agencies. Provides resolution of business or technical issues by identifying legal solutions and recommending a course of action. Examines legal data to determine advisability of defending or prosecuting lawsuits. Advises and represents the organization on legal issues concerning contract matters. Creates proposals, negotiates and executes contracts. Provides legal advice on warranty and contract administration. Prepares legal documentation for legal and contract negotiations and relationships. Prepares legal applications for warranty and new contracts, as needed. Maintains historical legal records. Responsible for coaching, reviewing, and delegating work to lower level professionals and managing a team of contract associates. Leads a team of experienced professionals in preparing bids, processes specifications, progress reports, and other reports for larger business units. Implements service excellence strategies to improve the relationship between legal department and other departments. Helps leadership train employees to ensure understanding of and adherence to contract law related to the business. Advises management of contractual rights and obligations to protect the organization’s legal and business interests. Compiles and analyzes data, and maintains historical information to ensure ease of accessibility and retrieval of data and documents. Conducts proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities for contracts to provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications. Leads team of experienced Contracts professionals. Oversees completion of contracts, trains employees, and oversees the analysis of critical data. Develops processes and assists in policy design in support of the Contracts department strategy. Influences senior management and others in the organization on complex contractual issues.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. JD/Law degree in related field strongly preferred. Desired: Advanced contracts knowledge and legal background. Experience managing complex contracts across organization functions. SAP experience. Advanced proficiency in software programs such as: Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and management. Have exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Experienced team manager: must have strong people and team management skills and experience. Has advanced to expert knowledge of work area and is viewed as a subject matter expert. Be highly efficient and self-motivated. Always be professional. Adhere to policies and implement changes as required. Adapt to competing work priorities.
