Fall Internship Interns will work closely with the professional staff on a variety of legislative projects. Responsibilities include attending hearings, preparing legislative reports, researching specific issues and compiling information to respond to constituents' inquiries. Some clerical work is also required. Interns learn the legislative process and gain valuable hands on experience. Interns learn the workings of a Congressional office and have the ability to network on the Hill. Students with a particular interest in trade, economics, and community development are encouraged to apply. Interns in district offices concentrate on researching constituent inquiries for information and help in dealing with federal agencies. In addition, interns accompany district staff to meetings of local civic and professional organizations. Some clerical work is expected.
