ProfileLaw Clerk The candidate will be reviewing, studying, researching, and annotating laws, court decisions, documents, opinions, briefs, and related legal authorities, Will be managing preparation of briefs, legal memoranda, and jury instructions, including appropriate suggestions or recommendations to the justice or judge. Compiling references on laws and decisions necessary for legal determinations. Conferring with judge concerning legal questions, construction of documents, and granting of orders. Attendance at court sessions to hear oral arguments and recording necessary case information; maintaining records attendant to court proceedings. Courtroom duties, including: taking court minutes; calling the calendar; swearing in jury panels and witness; and assisting in various court proceedings such as arraignments, motions, hearings, pre-trial conferences, and trials. Other administrative duties as assigned by Judge Abrams. Graduate of an accredited law school is needed. Graduation in top 50% of class, or previous experience as Law Clerk is essential. Successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal background check prior to appointment is needed. Strong organizational skill is needed. Deadline: 14 December, 2017.
