Assistant Attorney General
Candidate will represent the state in most felony, and some misdemeanor, appeals of criminal convictions and in all appeals of post-conviction relief actions before the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. They also represent the state in federal habeas corpus actions in the federal district court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Will include researching legal issues, drafting appellate briefs, petitions, and memorandums, and presenting oral arguments. Provides an opportunity to engage in the development of legal principles in a collaborative and intellectually stimulating environment.

Qualification and Experience

Candidate should have excellent writing, legal research, and oral advocacy skills. Prior prosecutorial or trial court experience is preferred. Must have an intellectual curiosity about criminal law and its evolution, this is the place for you.
