Seeking a Corporate Associate with 4-7 years of broad corporate transactional experience. Candidate must be admitted to the New York bar. Must have sophisticated experience representing public, private and emerging growth companies in complex M&A, joint ventures, strategic alliances, equity and debt finance. Securities experience is a plus. Must also have the ability to manage smaller transactions, be capable of independent responsibility for major documentation and components of larger transactions as well as substantial experience supervising, mentoring and inspiring junior associates. Top law firm experience preferred, and a combination of law firm and in-house experience will be considered. Excellent academic credentials, analytical skills and verbal and written communication skills required.

What I would recommend to anyone who may be reading this that is working for the law firm. Do whatever you can to change the pay scale and salary increase reviews to be one in which merit is considered rather than an employee's popularity.

Pros : Let's start with the good stuff. Everyone worked well as a group. We communicated throughout the firm when we had issues. We shared resources and I truly felt that we all scared about helping each other. We all wanted to see each other shine.
Cons : However, there was a lot of favoritism which led me to leave the firm. Advancements and salary increases weren't due to qualification, experience, or even how well we did in the past year. People were given salary increases greater than others just due to being a favorite of the head management. It was all politics over there. I wasn't as charismatic and personable as others, yet I was able to complete my job with flying colors. But because I wasn't as popular as others - I didn't receive great advancements in my pay.
