ProfileLegal Affairs Coordinator The candidate work for the Legal Affairs department. Generate drafts for standard graphic novel agreements, NDAs, name and likeness releases, unsolicited submission declines, custom comic statements of work, and other miscellaneous documents under supervision of Manager, Legal Affairs. Review publications, packaging and promotional materials for accurate legal lines and proper use of titles and trademarks. Serve as backup pre-publication review of comics and various publicity materials for ratings, legal and other concerns as needed. Assist in gathering documentation from heirs and estates as may be necessary to ensure payments are made to correct parties. Assist with gathering information on infringements for use by anti-piracy team. Scan and enter backlog copyright registrations, other documents, and memoranda into eDocs. Other projects/duties as assigned and general support for Legal Department.
Qualification and Experience
A 4 year college degree or equivalent work experience required. Paralegal experience, particularly intellectual property and contract preparation experience a plus. Should have 3+ years working in a legal or contracts department; experience in a brand management environment a plus. Should have proficiency in MS Office/Outlook or MAC equivalent. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of the comic book industry and pop culture very helpful.
