ProfileSenior Compliance/Regulatory Partner The candidate will complete projects and committee work under the direction of the Vice President of Business Ethics and Compliance to implement the department vision and strategy as well as corporate initiatives. Promote ethical practices throughout the organization by leading committees and task forces and collaborating with members of multi-specialty teams. Analyze strategic growth initiatives and provide regulatory summaries and recommendations to identify and mitigate risk. Identify, analyze, and interpret statutes and regulations related to Medicare, Medicaid, third party payor requirements, HIPAA, HITECH, or other privacy and security requirements. Assess the impact on company operations and identifies operational or clinical areas affected. Translates complex legal text into understandable language and summaries and develops actionable steps for individuals and departments. Educate and train to inform and advise compliance and operations leaders throughout the organization. Review/complete projects related to policy and regulatory analysis. Advise operations teams and leaders on compliant and risk mitigating business strategies and processes. Support and improve Compliance Department processes through coverage of the Compliance Hotline on a rotational basis, investigate compliance issues, and develop quality improvement strategies.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Juris doctorate degree from an accredited institution. Education is verified. At least one(1) year of work experience in a healthcare or legal setting with responsibilities and duties related to issues in compliance and ethics. Experience understanding, summarizing, and analyzing federal or state regulations applicable to the job functions. The experience must also include leading or supporting the implementation of processes, policies/procedures, and education. Identification or resolution of issues related to new or updated federal or state statues, regulations, or guidance a plus. Experience leading or participating in committees, task forces, or project teams to analyze regulations and offer legal expertise and opinions. Experience effectively and confidently advising and interacting with all levels of an organization. Experience using word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet and email, and scheduling applications. Leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare or comparable setting. Knowledge of the Intermountain structure, operations, policies, and procedures. Experience with Medicare Advantage. Working knowledge of Medicare coding principles. Working knowledge of medical terminology. HIPAA and HITECH experience.
