General Counsel The candidate will identify, analyzes and advises on all legal issues for the organization, balancing legal issues with business risk, including. Will real estate financing arrangements, including construction and permanent borrowing arrangements. Equity joint ventures and Co-Investments. Real estate matters, including site acquisition, development, zoning, entitlements, environmental and construction issues as well as preparing, reviewing and negotiating agreements and related documents. Condominium association and Landlord/Tenant matters. Litigation and dispute, including working with the appropriate business units to resolve claim, contracts dispute and litigation. Labor and employment matter. Management of governance records for corporate entities and risk management including overseeing the Company’s insurance program. Manage the internal Legal Department, including the structure, allocation of responsibilities, and activities of the team as well as managing the performance and professional development of each individual. Establish internal procedures and processes for the efficient operation of the department. Manage the activity of outside counsel, with the goal of minimizing the organization’s legal costs and obtaining highest quality services.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have12+ years of experience handling a wide range of capital market transactions (equity joint ventures, financing/borrowing arrangements) and real estate matters (including site acquisition, entitlement/zoning, and construction). Experience running transactions with minimal oversight, and demonstrated ability to manage and develop attorneys required. Outstanding academic credentials and law firm experience preferred.
