Chief Compliance Officer - Provider Operations The candidate will oversees the Compliance and Privacy Program for Summa Health’s provider operations, including its hospitals, research compliance function and medical group. The Compliance function reviews and evaluates compliance issues and concerns within the organization. This position assures the Board of Directors that hospital management and employees are in compliance with the laws, rules and regulations that govern healthcare. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, or Clinical Discipline required Masters of Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, Public Health or Laws, juris doctorate preferred, CHC required or able to obtain within one year of hire, Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in healthcare compliance/compliance auditing, Possess knowledge of regulations such as Medicare and Medicaid Fraud, Stark, Anti-kickback Statute, HIPAA and other applicable federal or state regulations, Strong ability to prioritize/manage multiple projects and coach/develop staff, Possess strong leadership in change-management functions, Ability to be a role model in terms of integrity, professionalism, objectivity, and confidentiality, Possess clear, concise and persuasive writing and presentation skills Possess excellent analytical, assessment, problem-solving, and judgment skills, Possess excellent project management skills including organization, thoroughness, and follow-upm Strong orientation to deadlines and detail, Decisive and exercises good judgment under pressure, Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, Demonstrate ability to work effectively and congenially with employees at diverse levels from staff to Executive/Senior Management/Physicians to Boards of Directors, Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variable and manage a diverse and demanding workload, General knowledge of healthcare information systems including scheduling, patient registration, clinical, medical records, patient billing, and general accounting systems, Ability to prepare and manage department budget, Possess specific knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software applications. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with patients/customers with the understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
