Profile

Medicaid and VA Eligibility Coordinator Duties: Work with clients to assemble documentation and process Medicaid and Veterans Administration applications under the supervision of an attorney. Assist attorneys in handling Medicaid (long-term care) and VA Pension Benefits planning and applications. Meet with and communicate frequently with clients in person, by phone, written correspondence and email. Manage Medicaid and VA Pension Benefits matters under attorney supervision. Prepare legal documents, correspondence, coordinate meetings, and fill in for other administrative staff under the supervision of the attending attorney. Prepare, assemble client documentation for, and file Medicaid and VA Pension Benefits Applications. Utilize ACCESS online Medicaid application process. Draft documents for estate planning clients based on attorney instructions and under attorney supervision. Maintain and organize electronic and paper client files, scan and maintain electronic case file. Regularly communicate with attorneys and other co-workers.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Formal paralegal education/training a plus. 2 years' working with Medicaid and/or VA Pension Applications Knowledge of standard office practices and use of office equipment. Professional appearance, excellent client services skills and telephone etiquette. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Outlook, Excel), and other computer or law office software.
