Temporary Legal Assistant The candidate work of a routine clerical/secretarial nature filling in for regular City employees who are temporarily absent or to provide additional clerical support to complete special short-term projects. Work generally involves answering telephones and interacting with the public as the receptionist; photocopying materials; distributing mail; scanning and filing a variety of material according to established department procedures; pulling files for court calendars; preparing form documents; and word processing or typing correspondence, reports and forms. Work assignments may involve data entry; performing recordkeeping or more advanced bookkeeping functions; using computers for word processing, data entry and spreadsheet assignments; processing purchase orders; and preparing time cards for payroll. Deals tactfully and courteously with the public, coworkers, and other City employees, occasionally in difficult customer service situations. Should have High school diploma or equivalent. Prefer receptionist experience, word processing experience in a Windows environment, and knowledge of alpha/numeric filing systems.
