A law firm in Mount Laurel, NJ is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Associate Attorney to manage mortgage and lending client case portfolios. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of case management, from assignment to resolution, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and client communication. The role requires strong litigation skills, experience in default services, and proficiency in case management systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of mortgage and lending client case portfolios from assignment through conclusion.
• Draft legal pleadings, notices of hearings, motions, and orders.
• Research and analyze statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, and codes.
• Update case management systems in a timely manner to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Travel to court for appearances and visit client sites as necessary.
• Communicate and collaborate with clients, internal staff, and others to ensure effective case management.
• Identify legal issues requiring additional review and establish strong follow-up systems to meet deadlines for pleadings.
• Prioritize and manage a high volume of files with great accuracy and attention to detail.
• Attend routine and litigation hearings, settlement conferences, oral arguments, and other court appearances as needed.
• Manage own caseload with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Review and correct case work prepared by paralegals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• New Jersey State Bar admission, active and in good standing.
• Strong litigation skills.
• Preferred: Experience in default services, eviction, and/or bankruptcy with lenders and mortgage services in New Jersey.
• Preferred: Experience with client systems used in default services, such as Black Knight.
• Preferred: Experience with electronic case management systems, especially CaseAware.
• Knowledge of laws related to practice areas, legal codes, and court procedures.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to positively interact and collaborate with clients and staff at all levels.
• Flexibility, self-direction, and motivation.
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to handle a large volume of cases.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, such as Outlook and Word.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• New Jersey State Bar admission, active and in good standing.

Skills:

• Strong litigation and legal research skills.
• Experience with mortgage and lending cases preferred.
• Proficiency with case management systems and electronic documentation.
• Outstanding organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage a high volume of cases with accuracy and attention to detail.
