Chicago office of our client, a Chambers ranked law firm, is actively seeking associates to join our Intellectual Property Litigation Group. The candidate will assume significant client responsibilities, provide high-quality services to domestic and foreign clients, communicate with all levels of management and staff and, at times, will require a significant degree of autonomy. Will serve in all aspects of patent litigation (development of strategies, defenses, conduct of discovery, work with technical and testifying experts, drafting motions and other pleadings, court appearances, and supporting and participating in trials of patent infringement actions). Has involvement in patent prosecution and transactional/licensing matters. Must have a Bachelor of Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. Advanced degrees are a significant plus. Should have 2-5 years of experience. Must understand coding languages including C++, HTML 5, CSS, Javascript, Java, Ruby, Python, ASP, PHP, and an understanding of DOM, TLS/SSL, and HTTP traffic. Experience with relational databases (MySQL), web analytics (Google Analytics, CoreMetrics), server side programming, source code repositories (Subversion and GitHub), web APIs, mobile APIs (such as Node.JS) and software architecture including MVC, REST, Encryption, PGP, Diffie/Hellman key exchange, MAC, digital signatures, public key encryption, symmetric and asymmetric encryption, hash functions, digital certificates, and service oriented architecture. Industry work experience with an ecommerce company is ideal. Should have license to practice law in Illinois (or licensed to practice law in another state and qualified to sit for the Illinois Bar exam).
