Legal Assistant / Office Manager The candidate will finalize, proofread, and prepare court documents for filing. Will be drafting routine documents without supervision. Notice of appearance, other procedural motions. Applications to courtsâ€” to employ/appoint, for receiver/attorney compensation. Accomplish filing and service electronically, by mail, in person. Maintain positive working relationships with courts, current and prospective clients: Answer phones, route calls to attorneys; Take initiative meeting client/court requests, providing information, solving problems. Manage attorneys and dockets: Schedule and calendar appointments, court dates; Communicate all deadlines, hearing dates/times, relevant court rules; Keep track of attorney schedules, locate them for each other and clients; Master and manage office and mobile phone technologies. Take charge of billing and invoicing: Be or become proficient in Bill4Time; Generate and send bills. High value skill: basic bookkeeping, ability to run Quickbooks. Regularize, streamline all back-office functions. Must have proficiencies: Microsoft Word: high-level user for formats, styles, TOC, table of authorities; Worldox and Nitro/Nuance; Bill4Time; Basic accounting; Stamps.com; Court website navigation: Federal, Bankruptcy, multiple-county Common Pleas, Domestic Relations; Office software evaluation and management. Should have 2+ years of law office experience. Some experience with bankruptcy cases required.
