Real Estate Paralegal Responsibilities: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. must be able to receive a signed residential contract and do, or cause to be done, all that is necessary to get it closed independently or with limited help on complex matters. Generally knowledgeable about lease negotiations, financing options, lending requirements and documents. Proofread all documents and correspondence for accuracy. Assist in preparing basic contracts, including lease agreements. Identify which documents are necessary for closing and generate same with limited or no oversight. Facilitate communication between the attorneys for buyer and sellers. Order and review title reports, lien letters, surveys, etc.; flag issues; and have a firm understanding regarding what must be done to clear any issues prior to closing. Must be able to think critically about a title commitment and get erroneous requirements removed independently. Monitor financial transactions. Prepare legal descriptions of land. Revise documents and keep track of deal changes and update accordingly. Prepare signature pages for all deal documents. Entity formation. Prepare and maintain closing checklists. Assist in preparations for closing and attendance at closings, whether in escrow or in person. Prepare closing binders. Prepare simple summaries of loan documents and other material documents. Assist attorneys in commercial real estate matters when necessary. Familiarity with the terms FinCEN, KYC and 1031 Exchange, and how they are relevant to real estate transactions. Maintain good relationships with clients and vendors. Maintain organized files for voluminous transactions. Handle attorney support aspects of a commercial transaction, title/survey review, UCC research and filings, due diligence, ancillary document drafting, and closing/post-closing procedures.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent attention to detail. Strong organizational skills. Ability to work well under pressure. Ability to work many files in one day, moving all of them forward. Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with and without direct supervision. Ability to coordinate and handle multiple projects in a timely manner. Ability to seek attorney guidance on complex matters. Strong writing and editing skills. Professional, knowledgeable and pleasant demeanor. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and the ability to conduct Internet research. Fluency in DoubleTime, Altastar, and ATIDS. Flexibility for unscheduled overtime as needed. Ability to research solutions independently when appropriate. Pride in your work product. Must have 3 years' Residential Real Estate experience. Must be business-level fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written). Experience with Commercial Real Estate. Experience with CM/ECF. Experienced in the following software or systems: ATIDS, Doubletime, AgentNet, TitleWave, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe PDF Pro, Propel, AltaStar..
