Senior Tax Manager The candidate will be responsible for the following job duties which are focused around three core concepts (Technical and Quality Expertise, People and Talent Management, and Client Service/Business Development): Provide detail review, while serving as a Career Advisor, mentor or coach to one or more employees, which will include providing honest and timely performance feedback. Provide excellent client service to multi-state companies with state and local tax issues including compliance, advisory services, planning, technology, and controversies. Ability to integrate with clients and the overall tax team to review sales and use compliance and provide state tax consulting, including nexus studies, technical research, exposure quantification, voluntary disclosures, audit defense, reverse sales tax audits, ASC 450 reviews and other state tax consulting. Lead and manage the business relationship of complex engagements with a focus on high-value, quality tax advice and seek to expand services to clients. Drive growth and profitability of State and Local tax practice area by generating new revenue on existing client portfolio, cross selling and new clients for the tax practice. Identify opportunities to cross-sell various SALT opportunities. And other duties as assigned. Should have Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field from an accredited college or university. CPA, CMI, JD or LLM degree required. Must have 8+ years of experience providing sales and use tax consulting services in a public accounting, consulting or law firm. Masters of Taxation or MBA is a plus.
