Case Manager The candidate will be responsible for managing and administrating pre-suit personal injury claims from inception to settlement in conjunction with the Managing Attorney to which he/or she is assigned. Opening and organizing new personal injury files. Gather, interpret, and analyze relevant intake information and medical and other documents as they relate to the client's personal injury claims, and prepare report regarding same for entry into Client Profiles. Perform full independent investigation into nature and facts of each case relating to medical and monetary damages sustained by client, and identify and interview relevant witnesses to the events at issue. Serve as direct liaison with client as to nature and status of pending claims. Verify insurance coverage and maintain contact with insurance company to verify and/or confirm coverage and billing requirements. Manage and monitor medical care of clients. Explain procedures, forms, and discovery and assist clients with preparation of responses to same. Initiate preparation of documents and correspondence such as demand letters, billing inquiries, etc. Analyze damages at issue and draft settlement demand packages for purposes of facilitating settlement. Serve as liaison in settlement negotiations with both Managing Attorney, clients, and adjusters utilizing demands/offers at issue. Collect and analyze documentation of all damages sustained such as medical records, bills and loss of income as case proceeds. Read and interpret medical records and reports. Organize, maintain, and manage assigned case files. Organize tangible damages utilizing special damages in Client Profiles. Diary/Calendar files using to-do's in Client Profiles so as to work each file at least every 4-5 weeks and as determined by the Case Manager assigned to the file.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must be familiar with relevant laws as it applies to personal injury claims, motor vehicle accidents and insurance. Must have computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word and legal software. Client Profiles is helpful. Knowledge of medical terms and traumatically induced conditions is helpful. Knowledge of insurance coverage types and policies is helpful.
