Manager, Licensing & Examinations
The candidate responsible for assisting the Senior Manager, Licensing and Examinations with managing the licensing activities for HCA, its subsidiaries and insurance division. Will prepare and file license applications and reports with licensing agencies or via the NMLS. In addition they will ensure prepare and file surety bonds, insurance certificates and CLIPS. The Manager, Licensing and Examinations must be able to perform research related to licensing requirements. This individual will also assist the team with preparing for regulatory exams, reviewing data and assisting in remediation of examination findings. Will have direct interaction with senior management, employees from all functions within HCA, third party vendors and state regulators. Obtain and maintain licenses for HCA, its subsidiaries, and securitization trusts. Prepare and file license applications, reports and other required documentation in the Nationwide Multi-State Licensing System (NMLS). Prepare correspondence and communicate directly with licensing authorities. Monitor and resolve license items posted in NMLS and keep HCA management informed of any deficiencies. Perform legal research related to licensing requirements and monitor for changes in licensing requirements. Facilitate document and signature processes and fingerprinting of executive officers. Obtain and maintain all licenses for firm’s insurance division. Prepare and file necessary forms and documents in the National Association of Insurance Commissioners System for Electronic Rates & Form Filing (SERFF). Perform legal research related to licensing requirements specific to insurance products and monitor for changes in licensing requirements. Assist with compliance examinations, including gathering and organizing data and files for examiners’ review and assisting in managing examination remediation. Assist in annual licensing budget preparation, drafting of policies and procedures, and maintenance of the licensing database. All other duties as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

A Bachelor’s Degree required; paralegal certificate preferred and notary credential is a plus. Should have 5 to 7 years’ licensing experience in a financial services company or other regulatory environment. Experience with the Nationwide Multi-State Licensing System (NMLS) is preferred. Experience with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners System for Electronic Rates & Form Filing (SERFF) is a plus. Familiarity with vehicle finance and/or insurance licensing laws and regulations a plus. should have comprehensive understanding of licensing requirements. Exceptional organizational skills, time management abilities and attention to detail required. Must have ability to multitask, including maintenance of calendar, facilitation of multiple license applications and independently following through on open issues. Should have excellent oral and written communication skills. Should have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with regulators, attorneys and employees at all levels.
