Deputy Ethics Counsel
(Attorney 2)
Central Office – Ewing, NJ

The New Jersey Judiciary, Office of Attorney Ethics, Supreme Court of New Jersey, is seeking an attorney to act as Deputy Ethics Counsel and assist in the investigation, detection, analysis and prosecution of attorney discipline cases involving violations of the Rules of Professional Conduct.

Example of Duties

  • Conduct complex financial investigations
  • Prosecute matters before special ethics masters and hearing panels throughout the State
  • Present cases before the Disciplinary Review Board and Supreme Court of New Jersey
  • Act as a liaison to the District Ethics Committees


Salary range is $82,019.12 - $113,487.52. For newly hired individuals, the starting salary will normally be at the minimum of the salary range.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an American Bar Association-approved law school
  • Three (3) years experience as an Attorney-at-Law performing legal research and analyzing and evaluating of legal documents, rules, regulations, and/or legislation
  • Attorney-at-Law with a plenary license in the State of New Jersey and Supreme Court Good Standing Status of Active
  • Trial experience preferred


Substitution: One year of experience as a Judicial Law Clerk may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

Residency Law: Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), also known as the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey.
