A prestigious law firm is seeking a mid-level transactional tax associate to join its Energy Project Development and Finance group. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with a dynamic, nationally recognized practice, focusing on renewable energy and energy transition projects. Location:

Duties:

  • Provide transactional tax support for renewable energy and energy transition projects.
  • Represent sponsors, lenders, or investors in renewable energy or power projects, tax-equity financing, and tax credit transfer transactions.
  • Work on structuring and negotiating tax-advantageous transactions, including those involving complex tax credits and incentives.
  • Assist with financing strategies, tax credit transactions, and other tax-related matters for energy projects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide comprehensive legal advice and solutions to clients in the renewable energy sector.
  • Engage in client interaction and advise on renewable energy laws, policies, and regulations.

Requirements:

  • 2 to 6 years of transactional tax experience, with a focus on renewable energy and energy transition preferred.
  • Experience with tax-equity financing, tax credits, and energy projects is highly desired.
  • Strong background in partnership tax and transactional experience, with a keen interest in renewable energy law.
  • Admission to one or more state bars is required.
  • An . in Taxation is preferred, though not mandatory.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • . in Taxation is preferred but not required.

Certifications:

  • Must be admitted to practice law in at least one state jurisdiction.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy, tax equity, and tax credit transactions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage complex transactions and work with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with an ability to think strategically.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects.
