People Advisory Services - Mobility (Expatriate) - Tax Manager
The candidate with the Mobility Tax team, will join a group of professionals that provide individual tax planning, compliance services and advice on tax implications related to the mobility of employees as well as corporate and employment tax planning. Will be engaged in complex compliance and advisory work; working with colleagues all over the globe, completing tax returns, reviewing/signing off, writing correspondence, providing authoritative advice/guidance, and review tax cost estimates. Directly engaging clients is vital, be ready to question and negotiate to provide results. Successful delivery of Mobility (Expatriate) Tax projects: technical excellence and practical/business driven approach to solving complex client challenges. Provide quality US tax returns and overseas tax filings; preparing/reviewing calculations (international tax cost projections, equalization and hypothetical tax). Generate revenue through identifying follow-on engagement opportunities and developing lasting relationships with clients; identify potential risks and opportunities to improve processes and acquire new business; contribute to business development and client pursuit activities. Lead workstreams from planning to implementation – managing resources and budgets effectively. Develop understanding of expatriate tax issues, trends and tools, and maintaining reputation as an authoritative professional. Managing, coaching, and developing junior resources and peers, focusing on their technical and client service skills to develop their career.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree in related field; MST, MAcc or JD/LLM preferred. Must have 5+ years relevant experience in expatriate tax: Big 4, global management consultancy firm, niche consultancy or in-house role with exposure to large-scale projects. Should have US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or active state Bar membership. An understanding of automated tax-processing systems, as well as tax laws is required. Should have excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to confidently influence colleagues and clients. Must have analytical approach to tax; ability to convert complex data into meaningful strategic insights.
Exposure to US and international clients is desired.
