Senior Compliance Specialist The candidate performs routine legal research and compiles data from such references as digests, encyclopedias, practice manuals or other sources. Serve as contact/liaison for assigned area/function. Participate in various “corporate” legal projects that impact national agents. Collects and collates legal research and information from a wide variety of sources. Performs research and analysis on supporting data and information needed regarding various compliance issues of the organization. Researches, updates, and maintains reference materials such as legal materials, underwriting review materials, licensing requirements, and business unit specific topics. Work closely with underwriting counsels and other state/regional counsels as necessary Maintains file system for legal and compliance related documents. Assists in preparation of training materials and performs actual training/webinars. Provides other administrative support to legal department. Answers questions, resolves escalated issues.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Typically has 5-8 years of related experience in title and/or closing production and/or licensing of national title agencies. Paralegal certification helpful. Should have experience with business protocol to communicate/ consult with team members, clients and management. Must possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments. For legal positions, specializes in a particular area, such as title insurance and settlements, licensing, and state rules and regulations of these areas, etc. Should have working knowledge of the law library, state and federal regulations, code sections, legal decisions and Commerce Clearing House volumes. Must have advanced research and summation skills; strong analytical and investigative skills. should have good PC skills. Strong interpersonal skills are needed. Must have excellent knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to legal entities, real property, title insurance, and settlement.
