Litigation - General (consumer)
Litigation Paralegal The candidate will provide overall support to attorneys' litigation needs. Will check cites, bluebook, quotes, exhibit references, etc. and proofread complaints, briefs and other court filings, discovery and letters to court. Oversee filing and service of court documents in federal / state court. Prepare subpoenas and discovery notices with information provided by attorney and oversee service. Organize documents produced by defendants and third parties. Schedule depositions with court reporter with information provided by attorney.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a four-year college degree and paralegal certificate from an ABA approved program. Prior experience as a paralegal or other legal field is preferred. Working knowledge of computers, including Internet research is needed. Experience with computer software, such as Word, Excel, Adobe, Lexis, Westlaw, and Relativity is essential. Should have ability to work substantial overtime if necessary. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
