Legal Assistant The candidate will be responsible for typing general correspondence, memoranda and complex legal documents according to the requirements set by each attorney. Proofread documents and checks for appropriate formatting, spelling and grammar. Maintain attorney appointment calendar. Set up and maintain files and records – paper and electronic. Prepare and update attorney case lists. Receive, open, prioritize and distribute incoming mail. Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with the firm policies. Interact professionally with clients, attorneys, paralegals, secretaries, all other staff and other representatives outside of the firm. Manage, maintain and update contact client database. Transcribe dictation tapes.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Associates degree. Must have Litigation experience. Familiarity with electronic filing in Federal and State Court. Analytical skills and strong attention to detail. Excellent writing and editing skills. Advanced knowledge of software applications including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and other web-based applications. Time Matters or other case management experience preferred.
