eDiscovery Paralegal The candidate will report to the eDiscovery Manager. Will work in a hands-on capacity to identify, preserve, collect, and analyze electronically-stored information. Perform eDiscovery work utilizing defined procedures and tools (55%). Manage and oversee electronic data document collections from on premise repositories and cloud-based services. Search and filter collected data per instructions. Recommend refinements to searches when appropriate. Analyze data as required using computer assisted review technologies. Communicate with data custodians and requesters as necessary. Collaborate with in house counsel, outside counsel, external vendors, and other internal IT groups. Handle exceptions that occur during the performance of technical work (20%). Identify technical exceptions occurring in a variety of software tools. Contemplate a variety of technical solutions using eDiscovery and IT skills, expertise, and creativity. Collaborate with eDiscovery management, requesters, internal IT resources, and others to ascertain the appropriate solution. Be accountable for the resolution of technical exceptions. Perform audits on technical work (12.5%). Perform administrative tasks (12.5%). Accurately and timely report progress, schedule, and issues for technical work. Accurately and timely document technical work.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Associate of Arts Degree and 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience with a law firm or corporate legal department. Paralegal certificate is essential. Must have 4 years of hands-on eDiscovery experience. Understanding of the litigation lifecycle and its impact on eDiscovery is essential. Strong analytical, organizational and verbal skill is essential. Experience working with various email archiving platforms (O365, E-Vault, Mimecast/Proofpoint, etc.), and eDiscovery Software (Clearwell, Legal Hold Pro, Relativity, etc.) is preferred. 3+ years hands on experience or working knowledge of IT security, operations, and technical support is preferred. Experience conducting training for eDiscovery tools and/or concepts is preferred.
