# Patent Prosecution Associate - Barnes & Thornburg LLP Barnes & Thornburg LLP, an AmLaw 100 firm with 20+ offices, is seeking an attorney with 3 to 5 years of patent prosecution experience for our Chicago Office. The firm and our patent group have an exceptional reputation for having an inclusive, collegial and supportive atmosphere, where members of the firm can thrive, learn, and advance in their career. ## Job Description The Patent Prosecution Associate will be responsible for: - Drafting and prosecuting patent applications - Managing patent portfolios - Working on patent opinion letters - Advising on non-infringement and invalidity issues - Conducting patent due diligence related to corporate transactional and M&A matters ## Qualifications - 3-5 years of patent prosecution experience - Mechanical or chemical engineering background preferred - Registered with the USPTO - Admitted in Illinois or eligible to waive into Illinois ## Compensation Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience. ## Equal Employment Opportunity and Diversity Statement Barnes & Thornburg is committed to equal employment opportunity in both principle and as a matter of policy. Qualification and Experience
Mechanical or chemical engineering background preferred, registered with the USPTO and either be admitted in Illinois or be eligible to waive into Illinois
