ProfileSenior Counsel The candidate should have general corporate skills and/or relevant experience to join team as Senior Counsel. Will support the Senior Vice President and General Counsel in providing comprehensive legal counsel and legal risk analysis related to company’s operations. Essential duties and responsibilities may include the following: Advising management and business units on various legal issues, including federal and state laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions; Managing litigation and business disputes, including coordination with outside counsel; Providing legal support and advice regarding a breadth of general corporate, SEC and regulatory matters; Drafting, negotiating and reviewing contracts; and Other duties and projects assigned by Senior Vice President and General Counsel.
Qualification and Experience
A Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university and 10 years of progressive legal experience with a well-regarded law firm and/or in-house at a public company is preferred. Public company and securities experience and commercial contracts experience is preferred. Knowledge of racing and/or gaming industry helpful. Must be licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, eligible for reciprocity or otherwise eligible to obtain a limited certificate of admission to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky solely for the Company under Kentucky Supreme Court Rule 2.111. Should have attention to detail and accuracy; excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and independently; ability to establish credibility and provide solutions; and ability to provide real-time advice on business and legal issues. Must have a proven track record of direct client contact.
