ProfileSenior Counsel The candidate should have general corporate skills and/or relevant experience to join team as Senior Counsel. Will support the Senior Vice President and General Counsel in providing comprehensive legal counsel and legal risk analysis related to companyâ€™s operations. Essential duties and responsibilities may include the following: Advising management and business units on various legal issues, including federal and state laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions; Managing litigation and business disputes, including coordination with outside counsel; Providing legal support and advice regarding a breadth of general corporate, SEC and regulatory matters; Drafting, negotiating and reviewing contracts; and Other duties and projects assigned by Senior Vice President and General Counsel.
Qualification and Experience
A Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university and 10 years of progressive legal experience with a well-regarded law firm and/or in-house at a public company is preferred. Public company and securities experience and commercial contracts experience is preferred. Knowledge of racing and/or gaming industry helpful. Must be licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, eligible for reciprocity or otherwise eligible to obtain a limited certificate of admission to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky solely for the Company under Kentucky Supreme Court Rule 2.111. Should have attention to detail and accuracy; excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and independently; ability to establish credibility and provide solutions; and ability to provide real-time advice on business and legal issues. Must have a proven track record of direct client contact.
