Legal Assistant to Partner Attorney Responsibilities: Conduct research to support legal proceedings. Assist with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents. Investigate facts to help in the negotiation of case issues. Assist with time entry for attorney. Record and store client information. Establish client relations during Client Intake procedure for consult scheduling. Draft client contract documents for matter engagement. Securely handle and maintain confidential case documents. Maintain file though electronic database. Communicate with court staff and process servers for settings, citations, and certified copy requests. E-file and e-serve pleadings and notices. Assist with case closing documents such as Deeds and Power of Attorney. Arrange courier deliveries for time sensitive documents. Organize and copy documents to use for exhibits and trial notebooks. Regulate Attorney Calendar for appointments, deadlines, hearings, and other reminders. Track and enter attorneyâ€™s billable time. Manage and revise Prebills for Client Invoices. Participate as a back-up for reception desk duties. Scan miscellaneous documents. Assist with limited personal appointments and matters (i.e. director meetings, CLE, personal mail, etc.).
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal and/or legal assistant Familiarity with legal drafting Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of local county court rules as well as surrounding counties such as: Montgomery County, Fort Bend County, etc. Familiarity with programs such as FileTime, Accounting Software, LexisNexis Accurint, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Programs, iManage, and Orion Legal Management Systems.
