The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has a vacancy for a staff attorney in its Central Office in Jefferson City.  This position would primarily conduct an office practice that provides legal advice and document drafting (e.g., opinions, contracts, legislation, rules, etc.).



 



Successful applicants will also be expected to litigate a limited number of administrative hearings involving motor carriers to enforce federal motor carrier safety regulations and state operating authority requirements. 



 



Requirements include: a Juris Doctor degree and membership in good standing with the Missouri Bar Association.  Excellent research, writing and communication skills are preferred.



 



This is an entry-level position, which has a starting salary of $49,872/year to $51,720/year. MoDOT also offers an excellent personal leave, medical and retirement benefits package.  Some overnight travel may be required.
