Legal Assistant Duties: Primary contact for initial client intake process/client interviewing. Administrative tasks: organizing, filing, copying, scanning, answering phones, opening and closing files. Prepare and forward summonses and subpoenas. Electronic filing with State and Federal Courts. Draft and edit documents, pleadings and discovery with attorney and senior legal assistant supervision. Participate in trial and arbitration proceedings by organizing evidence, preparing exhibits and contacting witnesses. Keep clients informed by maintaining contact and communicating case progress. Meet organizational goals by accepting ownership of responsibilities and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Experience in legal field preferred. Must be fluent in Spanish and English; proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Word Perfect; attentive to detail; strong organization, problem solving and collaboration skills. Must be able to communicate professionally with a variety of clients, demonstrate flexibility with changing priorities and accept direction.
