Attorney, Labor Relations
The candidate will provide support to the various business units of the Company that have a unionized workforce. Will work directly with the Senior Director, Labor Relations providing counsel and legal advice on labor matter that arise from the day-to-day operations of the airlines. Responsible for handling, managing and supporting matters such as grievances, arbitration hearings, and labor contract negotiations. Serve as Company Counsel for labor arbitration. Functions as a subject matter expert staying current with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Provides practical, complaint, and strategic advice and counsel on a full range of Railway Labor Act Issues, including the administration f multiple collective bargaining agreements. Works closely with all operating groups on issues such as contract interpretations, grievance responses, performance management, and employee relations. Provides support during labor agreement negotiations. Assists in grievance tracking, recording, reporting and analyzing tools and processes. Advices and interpretats labor agreement negotiations. Serve as advisor and counsel on full range of Railway Labor Act Issues, including the administration of multiple collective bargaining agreements. Must have Juris Doctor degree from an accredited US law school, solid credentials and membership in good standing of the bar in at least one state. Should have 1-3 years of experience in a law firm or Corporate Law department setting. Must have 3+ years of arbitration experience. Should have strong analytical skills and the ability to render persuasive, diplomatic, practical, creative, and at all times legally complaint advice in a timely manner. Labor litigation experience preferred.
