Rocket is looking for a Counsel – Employment to join our growing Legal Team. This role will work closely with the People Team and senior management to ensure that our employment practices are in accordance with the law. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in labor and employment law, excellent communication and analytical skills, and the ability to provide practical and strategic counsel to executives and colleagues.

Key responsibilities for this role include providing legal advice and guidance on employment law and human resources matters, conducting legal research and analysis, handling complaints and litigation, and developing and conducting training and workshops. The Counsel – Employment will also be responsible for monitoring legal developments and making necessary adjustments to policies and procedures to ensure compliance. In addition, this role will involve working with outside counsel on global matters and providing support for M&A activities.

The successful candidate will have a law degree and be admitted to practice law in the United States or Canada. They should also have at least six years of experience in labor and employment law, preferably in an in-house corporate or law firm environment. Strong knowledge of US employment laws and regulations is essential, as well as the ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience in a complex, global organization and a track record of implementing legal solutions that have a broad impact.
