Attorney- Adviser (General), NH 4 Responsibilities: The candidate serves as Attorney Advisor to all segments of the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) offices within the geographic area Renders oral and written advice to protect all legal rights of the government. Reviews actions for legal sufficiency, including settlement of indirect cost rates, disallowance of costs, Cost Accounting Standards compliance, contractor claims, novations, termination settlements, equitable adjustments, and property matters. Advises on labor and employment matters and represents the agency before administrative tribunals such as Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Merit Systems Protection Board, and Federal Labor Relations Authority. Assists with investigation, preparation, and processing of contract and other claims, appeals, and litigation matters. Advises on reports of various investigative agencies or procurement activities, alleged conflict of interest, suspected fraud, and security issues Provides legal counsel on questions of law and policy as required by local offices, and the effect of such operations on other agency activities. Traveling is required.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Must have In-depth knowledge and demonstrated legal experience in federal labor and employment law, including adverse actions, labor-management, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) proceedings; In depth knowledge and demonstrated legal experience in federal acquisition law, including specialized experience in contract administration; Knowledge of fiscal law, DoD Standards of Conduct, Privacy Act, Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA); Demonstrated ability to analyze and effectively communicate complex factual and legal issues. Must have successfully completed a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and have the first professional law degree (LLB or JD) from that institution. Must currently be an active member, in good standing, in the bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia. Must have professional legal experience in excess of 3+ years that is commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position. Deadline: 06/28/2019.
