The role provides an opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals across various practice areas, including Labor and Employment, Student Affairs, and Public Agency Governance.

Duties:

• Provide comprehensive legal counsel on labor and employment matters for educational institutions.
• Assist clients with navigating complex legal issues related to employment law, including compliance, policies, and dispute resolution.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver thorough and strategic legal solutions.
• Conduct detailed legal research and analysis.
• Draft, review, and revise legal documents such as memos, contracts, and advisories.
• Represent clients in hearings, mediations, and other relevant proceedings.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable state and federal laws impacting public education.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1-4 years of relevant legal practice experience.
• Active membership in the State Bar of California.
• Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of California.
