Legal Assistant Responsibilities: Schedules cases for settlement, mediation and/or trial; including scheduling, discovery and trial preparation. Obtains medical records, films and medical bills obtained from hospitals; doctors, experts and clients. Maintains Attorneyâ€™s schedule and calendar for hearings, depositions, meetings, and meditations, and trials. Dockets deadlines. Files all pleadings using the E-filing portal. Prepares correspondence to insurance companies, doctors, experts, hospitals and medical facilities. Requests updated lien amounts. Maintains Trial Order Checklists. Organizes medical records, films and medical bills for trial and/or settlement Inputs data into case management system Assists the Paralegal to prepare trial exhibits, trial notebooks and all â€œindexesâ€ in anticipation for trial. Sends initial pre-suit letters. Other duties as assigned.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: 2-3 yearsâ€™ experience working with a Plaintiff Personal Injury law firm. Full knowledge Florida Courts. Trial Works experience a plus. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Ability to work well under pressure Ability to multi-task. Great attention to detail. Excellent analytical skills. Great communication skills, both written and verbal.
