Tax - Senior Manager – Accounting Methods, Credits and Incentives Duties: Building and managing a team of professionals which are charged with helping clients in identify, document, and support tax positions related tax accounting methods, federal tax credits and incentives. Managing federal credits and incentives opportunities including research and development tax credit/deduction analyses, Section 199 deduction engagements, section 179 deduction analysis, application of tangible asset regulations, cost segregation, meals and entertainment, and appropriate application of accounting methods. Understanding and applying changes in legislature as it relates to tax credits and accounting methods. Actively participating in business development with existing clients as well as developing marketing plans for securing new clients . Demonstrating sound judgment and instincts with respect to evaluating complex scenarios involving various credits and incentives opportunities. Working very closely with core Federal tax professional to ensure all clients are receiving an exceptional level of service. Responsible for mentoring and developing team members, managing profitable engagements, formulating sales and go to market strategy, developing service offerings in conjunction with Washington National Tax, technical review deliverables and develop national and local training programs.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university. CPA, EA or JD Degree/LL.M preferred. 10-15 years’ experience in a public accounting firm and/or other professional services firm. Proven track record of a successful tax planning focus including accelerated depreciation deductions through Cost Segregation, Fixed Assets and Repairs & Maintenance analyses, Section 179D deductions for energy efficient property, increased deductions for meals and entertainment ("M&E") expenses and Research and Development ("R&D") Tax Credits. Knowledge of a broad range of corporate tax matters in various industries. Experience managing tax consulting professionals. Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office, and other comparable programs. Exceptional organizational skills. Ability to work in a deadline driven environment with the ability to manage multiple engagements. Exceptional leadership and business development skills. Ability to work in a team environment.
