Senior Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for paralegal support of litigation, patent prosecution, and IP business and management initiatives as requested by IP leadership team. Primary responsibilities include: managing discovery support; document collection; helping to select, onboard, and manage electronic platforms to assist with discovery and legal holds; tracking deadlines and documents for outstanding litigation matters; interacting with outside legal counsel and internal business partners; assisting in reporting to senior management on significant litigation; patent filing docket management; coordination of foreign and domestic patent prosecution matters with outside patent counsel, IP diligence related to mergers and acquisitions and other IP business support at the direction of management. Provide full litigation support, including matter management. Provide discovery support, including e-discovery, for outside counsel and in-house counsel. Assist in-house legal teams with selecting and managing e-discovery and legal hold platforms. Prepare drafts of IP team reports for senior management. Assist in-house counsel collecting relevant information and documents from business teams for declarations, briefs, and other documents. Edit and proofread litigation documents. Help establish and implement litigation best practices across the litigation team. Maintain several attorney dockets for the US and abroad. Handle patent formalities. Correspond with in-house engineers and external legal counsel related to patent matters. Lead or support internal IP team projects at the direction of the management. Maintain a detailed list of projects and associated actions across the core and extended teams to ensure project plans and actions are completed on time, efficiently and at the appropriate level of quality. Manage 3rd party invoice tracking and reporting of technical, legal and business spend in context of IP team budget and forecast process. Research intellectual property-related activities including patent litigation and licensing activities of specific companies and markets. Summarize and present results in presentations, reports, and verbally. Work as a member of project teams responsible for completing assigned tasks. Provide input for presentations, marketing materials, proposals, term sheets, contracts (from a business perspective) to support the Licensing Executives/Deal Team Leaders in client presentations, deal development and negotiations. Support deal structuring especially related to complex deal structures and patent sale/purchasing and financing activities. Maintain a high state of knowledge and awareness of the industry including the overall markets, companies and customers in the value chain, active patent litigation and licensing programs, competitors and others in the in-house ecosystem. Support damage and other valuation analysis on litigation and licensing projects. Manage all functions within budget and other requirements.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should be a certified paralegal. MBA is preferred, with an undergraduate technical degree. Must have 5+ years of professional and related experience conducting paralegal support of patent litigation, patent prosecution, and IP business analysis related to patent diligence for mergers and acquisitions. Specific experience in IP valuation and patent analysis in support of patent licensing programs or related projects is highly desirable. French skills beneficial.
