Analyst III The candidate will assess, manage and report on misconduct and breach reports of moderate and high complexity. Will coordinate appropriate inquiries using databases, liaise with external stakeholders, and the exercise Commission's compulsory powers to assist in the timely and accurate assessment of misconduct and breach reports. Conduct research and prepare recommendations on a range of issues relating to the assessment of matters involving the Corporations Act, Commission Act and other relevant legislation. Exercise sound judgement and make recommendations aligned with Commission's strategic priorities. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders in relation to reports of misconduct. Assist senior analysts in the review and assessment of more complex inquiries and reports of misconduct. Coordinate appropriate inquiries using databases, liaise with external parties, and exercise Commission's compulsory powers to assist in the timely and accurate assessment of misconduct and breach reports. Conduct research including legal research and prepare recommendations on a range of issues relating to the assessment of matters involving the Corporations Act, Commission Act, National Consumer Credit Protection Act and other relevant legislation. Engage in liaison with and the preparation of detailed correspondence for internal and external stakeholders, including communicating with the public or Commission's regulated population about misconduct and breach reports of moderate complexity. Share knowledge to develop the skills of other team members. Ensure the maintenance and accurate recording of a number of internal databases. Interpret and apply legislation administered by Commission including the Corporations Act (2001) or the ability to rapidly obtain these skills.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should preferably have a tertiary qualification in commerce, law, accounting or finance. Must have prior experience in client service and case or relationship management, gained within financial services, legal, regulatory or corporate environment. Should have an understanding of Australian markets regulated by Commission and Commission's role as a regulator, or the ability to rapidly acquire these skills. Experience identifying and interpreting guidelines, applying legislation, procedures and processes accurately and in a timely manner is required. Should have experience in client service, case and relationship management, gained within a financial services, regulatory or corporate environment, including telephone communication. Must have experience using a variety of software applications to source relevant data. Application Deadline: 5 February, 2018.
