A law firm is seeking a Family Law Associate Attorney to join its Seattle, WA office. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for advocacy, exceptional legal writing and litigation skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The role involves handling complex family law cases, including contested parenting matters, intricate marital and non-marital estates, and high-net-worth clients. Candidates should have 2+ years of recent family law litigation experience in Washington State.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of family law cases, including contested parenting issues, complex marital and non-marital estates, and matters involving high-net-worth clients.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft a variety of legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Develop and execute case strategies in consultation with clients and senior attorneys.
  • Provide clear and effective legal advice and counsel to clients.
  • Maintain organized case files and ensure meticulous documentation.
  • Collaborate with clients, experts, and team members to build robust case arguments.
  • Stay current with developments in family law and changes in relevant statutes and regulations.
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Washington State Bar license.
  • 2+ years of recent experience in Washington family law litigation.
  • Significant experience with contested parenting matters and complex marital and non-marital estates preferred.
  • Excellent legal writing, research, and litigation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle high-net-worth client matters with professionalism and discretion.
