Attorney III The candidate will pursue recovery and damages from violators of applicable State laws and regulations, work cooperatively with the Attorney General’s Office in preparing complex cases for trial; coordinate the investigation of the most sensitive and complex civil and criminal inland and marine oil spill/pollution cases; draft complex pleadings; conduct depositions; research and analyze legal principles and precedents associated with violation of pollution control laws, and civil and administrative orders; and represent the Department in the most intricate negotiations leading to settlement. Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Should have knowledge of Federal, State and local environmental laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to oil spills/pollution incidents.
