Patent Paralegal / Patent Formalities Officer The candidate supports patent professionals in the filing and prosecution of patent applications. Responsible for the filing of provisional, non-provisional, PCT, foreign filing and US national phase filings. Maintains and updates a patent docketing system. Implements Patent Decision Records and Maintenance Reviews. Responsible for filing US/PCT patent applications and related prosecution documents with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Coordinates closely with counterparts across international Shell IP offices. Acts as resource for information and training on US Formalities practice and processes. Oversees processing of correspondence relating to patents. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Paralegal certificate is required. Should have 5+ years of patent prosecution experience. A thorough knowledge of patent docketing as well as experience with document management and other software applications in an office environment. Strong understanding of USPTO procedures. Familiarity with PCT procedures is a plus. Fully proficient in electronically filing patent applications are needed. Fully proficient in Microsoft Office tools and experience with patent docketing tools are needed. Deadline: 26 April, 2018.
