Internship The intern will work with two attorneys on a variety of housing, domestic violence, public entitlements and senior law cases. Will have the opportunity to take on substantial responsibilities, which may include: calling and meeting with clients, interviewing witnesses, assisting in trial preparation, researching and writing briefs to courts and office memoranda, drafting complaints and other pleadings, obtaining and reviewing government files, and conducting educational workshops. Will also be responsible for administrative tasks like filing and copying. Will work for 15 hours per week for at least 8 weeks during the summer is preferred. Completion of first year of law school is essential. Must have interest in working for clients with low incomes and on poverty law issues; self-motivation; strong sense of justice; willingness to work under pressure and come early or stay late when necessary; excellent interpersonal and legal writing skills, or a strong interest in improving them.
