Student Trainee (Clerk) GS 1 - 5 Duties: The candidate performs: General filing, mail handling, and distribution; Applies established procedures to sort, code, and file documents; Answers and directs phone calls and greets and escorts visitors; and Composes general correspondences.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: the Students must maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of a least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) throughout their appointment to remain in the program. Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a degree program or qualified certificate program with GPA of 2.5 out of 4.0. All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. GS-1: Must either be currently enrolled in High School or a GED program. GS-2 : Must either have successfully completed a high school diploma or equivalent or will have successfully completed a high school diploma or equivalent within 9 months from the closing date. GS-3: Must either have successfully completed one full year of post-high school study or will have successfully completed 1- full year of post-high school study within 9 months from the closing date of this announcement. GS-4: Must either have successfully completed an Associate's degree or 2- full academic years of post-high school study or will have successfully completed an Associate's degree or 2- full academic years of post-high school study within 9 months from the closing date of this announcement. GS-5: Must either have a 4 academic course years of post-high school leading to a bachelor's degree or equivalent degree, 3 years of general experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least GS-4 level work, or a combination of education and experience. Must be able to type 40 words per minute with 3 or fewer errors. Must be currently accepted for enrollment OR are you currently enrolled in a qualifying educational institution (a public high school whose curriculum has been approved by a State or local governing body; a private school that provides secondary education as determined under State law, a home school that is allowed to operate in a State; any of the following educational institutions or curricula that have been accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education: technical or vocational school; a 2-year or 4-year college or university; a graduate or professional school (e.g. law school, medical school); or a post-secondary home school curriculum), on a full or half-time basis.
