Duties:

  • Conduct legal research using legislation, case law, and other legal texts to develop case strategies.
  • Draft legal documents such as contracts, reports, and legal briefs.
  • Assist in preparing cases for immigration petitions, consular processing, and deportation defense.
  • Manage client interactions and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with immigration laws and firm policies.
  • Attend hearings, meetings, and assist in trial preparations.
  • Report case progress to senior attorneys and clients, maintaining a high standard of client service.
  • Handle and manage detailed, high-demand immigration processes, ensuring all case materials are submitted on time.
  • Analyze legal issues and provide solutions to complex immigration matters.
  • Maintain records of hours spent on tasks and update case files.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
  • Bar admission or preparing to take the Bar exam (contingent upon passing).
  • 1+ years of experience in law clinics or internships.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and public speaking skills.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities, with the capability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and MacOS.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active member of the Bar (or preparing for admission).

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research and drafting legal documents.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and integrity in handling sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of immigration law is preferred but not required.
