Specialist, Intellectual Property The candidate will receive, triage, assign, and monitor the status of all rights requests submitted by Firm businesses worldwide to the IP Analysis and Insights Group (the â€œGroupâ€). Will control and optimize the internal Assignment Management Database, and be responsible for communicating effectively with clients and members of the Group, as well as monitoring and enhancing the Groupâ€™s metrics. Be responsible for managing both hard and digital resources used by the Group for research (including policies and procedures). Provide excellent client service by responding promptly and substantively to all client inquiries. Communicate effectively with legal, business, and creative professionals in various divisions. Thoroughly review client and internal communications to determine the scope and urgency of all requests. Maintain an efficient triage system to determine the best way to manage internal workloads. Organize and attend weekly assignment management meeting to brief members of Group on assignment queue. Update the Groupâ€™s manual to ensure accuracy. Accurately record each request received in the appropriate database. Quickly respond to inquiries regarding assignment data. Ensure that all information is saved and organized efficiently in the document management system. Promptly distribute agreements, rights summaries, and other internal documents to the appropriate analysts and attorneys in the Group. Train personnel to locate and use internal resources to facilitate efficient completion of assignments.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelorâ€™s degree or equivalent academic. Strong Microsoft Office Excel / Word / PowerPoint skill is essential. Must have 3+ years of experience. Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA. Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States. Excellent academic credential is desired. Familiarity with the entertainment business and knowledge of entertainment contract is desired. Superior organizational skill is desired. Strong analytical and project management skill is desired. Must have excellent computer skills with the ability to quickly master new applications. Strong interpersonal skill is desired. Legal background (paralegal or comparable work experience) is a significant plus. Experience using computer database is preferred. Excellent computer skills with the ability to quickly master new application is preferred.
