Legal Counsel The candidate will provide U.S. bank/ bank holding company regulatory legal advice to Law Group, business and control function partners. Will be member of the US Bank Regulatory Legal Practice Group, become “go to†trusted regulatory legal advisor and subject matter expert for: Bank Holding Company Act and Federal Reserve Board Regulations: K, O, W and Y and OCC bank authority/ branch regulations and interpretations. Provide US bank regulatory legal advice, including EPS, CCAR, IHC to cross-functional working groups, line of business counsel and business partners, collaborating with Canadian and European bank regulatory counsel, external counsel and control function peers. Support the Subsidiary Governance Office (SGO) in the management of IHC and BHC board processes in line with FBO EPS and related, general US bank regulatory requirements and firm's standard SGO and governance principles. Assist with prudential regulator supervision oversight of the activities of the regulatory exam management team. Assist the IHC GC and MD, IHC/US Bank Regulatory Counsel in developing US regulatory reform updates for the US Law Group to keep line of business counsel and functional partners abreast of bank regulatory and legal developments.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have JD degree or equivalent from a recognized U.S. Law School. Must have Admission to NY or NJ Bar admission. Must have 5 years’ work experience in the financial services sector. Strong bank regulatory, investment advisory and securities legal experience is required. Knowledge of new and proposed regulations issued by the U.S. prudential bank regulators, including certain regulations promulgated under the Dodd-Frank Act is required.
