Default Services Civil Litigation Paralegal Candidate will be responsible for assisting the attorneys with high volume caseloads and will work often in our vendor related software. Will handle representation of financial institutions, investors, title insurers, housing authorities and select businesses in all matters related to servicing, mortgage banking, consumer finance, title insurance, real estate finance, and the enforcement of mortgage loans. Draft Summons, Complaint, Service of Process, Defaults, prove up packages, Judgments, Writs, and various other pleadings as needed. Prioritize deadlines and provide client updates utilizing internal operating systems. Notate our in house file tracking system. Oversee and manage 150+ case files. Research for process information while following procedure. Communicate with attorneys, clients, third parties (such as homeowners), and outside counsel. Act as telephone point of contact for all files in caseload- Prepare files and notes for hearings. Provide staff support as necessary for firm attorneys.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: College degree or legal certificate preferred. Experience working with lenders preferred. Previous litigation experience. Previous experience working with Vendorscape, LPS, and other vendor related software preferred Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Basic knowledge of legal practices and procedures. Familiarity with legal databases. Excellent communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to maintain records and prepare reports. Ability to work in a fast paced environment with a large case load. High proficiency with computers and technology.
