Transactional Legal Assitant The candidate will coordinate and assist with closing of real estate transactions, including revision and completion of documents, coordination of signature pages, completion of filings, assembly of closing books, etc. Consult with supervising attorneys and effectively communicate with clients on the same. Create and maintain organized databases of documents for legal team. Create entities and maintain and organize corporate governance documentation, as required. Provide support for a range of other types of agreements, such as review and analysis of contracts, review of requested edits to form agreements, preparation or review of renewals or extensions of existing agreements, and development and review of draft contracts under attorney supervision. Provide real estate support to supervising attorneys, including coordination with title companies, surveyors, and other vendors. Assist supervising attorneys by organizing and gathering information for contract drafting and follow-up on outstanding contract issues or status. This may include meeting with appropriate departments to facilitate and expedite contract resolution. Conduct legal and/or business research, provide timely and relevant information, and respond to legal inquiries. Provide administrative support for legal team and Vice Presidents of Development and Investments. Assists the team and department initiatives and projects, as needed. Preparation of correspondence on behalf of the legal team and the Vice Presidents of Development and Investments. All other duties as assigned Must have familiarity with new technologies and competing programs. Should have Experience with review and drafting of commercial contracts. Must have experience closing transactions, including coordination of file document packets, signature pages, filings and closing binders/sets. Should have experience with corporate governance issues, requirements, and documentation. Must have Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of experience in the law firm and or in-house setting. Paralegal certification, Notary Public, and work with title companies and surveyors) and experience with real estate transactions (preliminary title reports, title policies, obtaining all the surveys, plotting policy exceptions on surveys, etc.) preferred. Must have ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
