Associate General Counsel - Intellectual Property The candidate will have day-to-day responsibility for the firm's Biosciences business unit, will manage a team, and is expected to demonstrate leadership for life sciences intellectual property matters across firm. Will be providing advice and counsel to all levels of management of the Biosciences business unit as a key member of decision-making teams. Independently ensuring that intellectual property matters unique to life sciences are understood and considered as part of the IP support provided to the company. Leading initiatives undertaken by the IP Department to achieve Key Business Objectives or otherwise. Timely communication and escalation of critical issues to the Chief IP Counsel. Active management of talent, and driving maximum performance by direct reports. Supervising other attorneys and/or patent agents.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Law Degree (JD or LLM), with 14 years legal experience, and an undergraduate or graduate degree in a life sciences field. Must be Admitted to practice law in at least one State, and must be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Existing knowledge of the technology of the Biosciences business unit, along with an understanding of the business environment within which the business operates and in which the technology is used, is desirable. Excellent interpersonal skills required.
