The attorney will be responsible for managing cases, taking defendant depositions, conducting mediations/arbitrations, and securing verdicts. Location:
Duties:
- Manage a caseload of medical malpractice, construction accident, and general negligence cases.
- Take depositions from defendants and witnesses.
- Resolve cases through negotiation or trial, including conducting mediations and arbitrations.
- Participate in trial work (training provided for those without trial experience).
- Collaborate with a paralegal dedicated solely to the attorney's caseload.
- Coordinate with calendar clerks to schedule depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
- Attend and participate in hearings and trials as required.
Requirements:
- Experience in personal injury law.
- Strong trial experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.
- Ability to manage cases efficiently from start to finish.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and deposition skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Licensed to practice law in New York State and in good standing.
